November 28th...Thanksgiving

Today was mine and Matthew's first Thanksgiving away from our families.  It was hard...but we really didn't have a choice.  I am full term and Cassidy could make her appearance any day now.  So traveling 5 hours away from home would not be a wise choice.  I tried hard though to make feel like Thanksgiving.  I made my mom's chocolate pie (which surprisingly turned out just right!), Granny's pumpkin pie, Aunt Chrissy's corn casserole, mashed potatoes, broccoli cheese casserole, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, rolls and a turkey.  I must say...I was pretty impressed with myself.  I somehow managed to cook all this while 9 months pregnant.  But my feet are screaming at me now.  My tired feet and hands are swollen like sausages.  But it was well worth it!

I must say that even though we weren't able to spend Thanksgiving with extended family this year, I am still so blessed to have my loving husband, my sweet little boy, and this active little girl inside of me to spend it with.  I have SO MUCH to be thankful for!

November 27th

Wyatt and Matthew took advantage of all the leaves that have fallen in the yard.  What kid doesn't love jumping in a pile of leaves, right?

November 21st

Matt and I went to Wyatt's Thanksgiving feast today at school.  For years I was the teacher getting my students ready for the Thanksgiving feast.  This year, I got to be the parent!  So bittersweet.  Can't believe time is moving so quickly!

On the way home I decided to stop and take some pictures of the beautiful leaves behind our house before they all fall off!!

November 9th

Tonight was the annual Sutton County Game Dinner.  A night of great food...and guns.  Wyatt made an appearance as Mr. Sutton County.  His job was to give away free Koozies and to draw the first raffle ticket of the night.

I am in trouble.  What a stud muffin!

November 2nd

We headed to Austin this weekend for Katie's wedding.  She was my neighbor growing up in Arlington.  I used to babysit her when she was still in diapers.  Just reminds me how old I really am.

October 31st...Halloween

Halloween in Sonora...where the kids get candy and the youth roll houses in plain daylight.

Some youth with their toilet paper.

While trick-or-treating, we ran into Wyatt's friend Jayce, otherwise known as Santa.

October 30th

Today was the annual trick-or-treating on Main Street and the Fall Festival.  It was a day full of Halloween (on the day before!)  Every year the businesses around and on Main Street in Sonora dress up, decorate, and hand out candy to kiddos.  The kids get to wear their costumes to school and actually get to take a "field trip" to main street to do some trick-or-treating!  Something Wyatt would never be able to do in the Metroplex!!  Just one of the many perks of living in a small town.

Then, school gets out at noon to prepare for the annual Fall Festival that takes place on school grounds.  Wyatt decided he wanted to change his costume to "Venom" (black Spiderman) for the Fall Festival.  Have I said how much I love this town??

October 25th

Grammy came in town today.  We did a little pumpkin carving and then Grammy, Matthew and Wyatt played a little baseball in the front yard.

Wyatt insisted he use his garden gloves...he has never been a fan of the slimy pulp.
