August 8th

Today was Kathleen's last day in Sonora as our Children's intern.  We are going to miss her SO much!!  She did an awesome job with our kiddos.  But what better way to celebrate than lunch at the Mercantile?!  Um...yes please!

August 7th

Matthew and I finally got to celebrate our 10 year anniversary.  We had to wait since I was still in the puking-all-the-time stage back in May.  We had a great time relaxing for several days in Fredericksburg.  It was so nice to have some get away time just for us.  I love this man and am so thankful I said "I do" 10 years ago!!

July 25th

Matthew, Wyatt, Kathleen, Scott and I took a little road trip tonight.  Since we were already staying in Alpine for camp, we thought we would take a trip out to Fort Davis to see McDonald's Observatory.  As it turns out, it was closed for a private function...but we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful drive!  We also had a good laugh..as we always do with Wyatt.  During the drive Wyatt told us he wanted to name his baby brother, should it be a brother, Red Beard.  We asked him what he would call him for short.  He quickly said, "Nonnie's Kitties."  Totally random.  Who is Nonnie you ask?  No one knows!

July 15th

It rained all day today!  The first time that has happened since we moved to Sonora.  Not only did it rain, but it was chilly too!!  It was in the 60's this morning.  So naturally we had go outside and enjoy it!

We took a little trip to Clyde today to see Granddad, Granny B., Old Granddad, and Mimi Doe.  Granddad bought some flowers for Wyatt to plant in the planter he made me for Mother's Day.

June 28th

Today was the annual Sutton County Days and Rodeo.  We entered Wyatt in the Mr. Sutton County contest.  I thought he would enjoy it since being social is "his thing."  Wyatt and I rode in the parade this morning and then headed to the parade grounds for the contest.  He did awesome.  I was SO proud of him.  He showed absolutely no stage fright.  He walked right up on stage and answered the questions.  But he didn't just answer the questions, he answered the questions and then some.  For his "talent" he told some jokes.  But he still wasn't finished (even though Jody said they were running out of time.)  He couldn't be finished without telling everyone the "true" story about when he and his dad talked to a talking tree.  Matthew and I couldn't stop laughing.  He was so excited when he saw that he had won the biggest trophy.  So it is now "official".  He is Little Mr. Sutton County 2013-2014.  He won a trophy and belt buckle.  His first responsibility was to award Ms. Sutton County with flowers at the rodeo, but unfortunately there was a mix up in communication and he didn't make it out on the truck with the "beautiful girls with the golden crowns" (as he called them).  So instead, he got to ride out with the cowboys to set the barrels out when it was time for barrel racing.

Family Vacation Day Two (and Dad's birthday).  We had fun at Aquatica, the Sea World water park.   Some adventures of the day: Walking with and feeding the stingrays, petting the huge snake, and sliding, sliding, and sliding some more.

Today was the first day of our family vacation.  Sea World Day one.  Some of the adventures of today:  Feeding a dolphin, getting splashed by Shamu, and riding the roller coaster over and over (which he loves!)
